Shafayet Ahmed is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Construction Engineering at Western Michigan University (WMU). Before joining WMU, he worked as a Lecturer at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. His research focuses on construction workforce development, decision-support systems related to construction project management, and sustainable construction materials. He has extensive research experience on mass timber building material and its implications in the US construction industry.

Nuzhat Moin is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Civil and Construction Engineering program at WMU. She completed her bachelor’s in Civil Engineering in 2023 at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. Prior to pursuing her master’s, she worked at ACE Consultants Ltd. as a Junior Business Development Engineer. Her research centers on transportation safety, particularly applying data-driven enforcement, digital alert systems, and crash analysis to reduce accident risks.

Md Tauhidul Karim is currently pursuing his master’s degree in Civil and Construction Engineering program at WMU. Prior to pursuing his master’s, Tauhidul was a Lecturer at the European University of Bangladesh. His academic pursuits and research interest lie in the areas of construction workforce development and the implication of Artificial-Intelligence (AI) in improving construction workers’ mental health and well-being.
